The Playard Showdown: Graco Pack ‘n Play Playard Jetsetter vs 4Moms Breeze Playard

The Playard Showdown: Graco Pack ‘n Play Playard Jetsetter vs 4Moms Breeze Playard
Latest posts by Keith Lindner (see all)

Choosing the perfect playard can be a daunting task. You want to purchase something that is light enough to carry around and travel with and yet sturdy enough to keep your little one safe and last them well into toddlerhood.

Today we are comparing two very popular playards on the market: The Graco Pack ‘n Play Playard Jetsetter versus the 4Moms Breeze Playard. Both of these brands have become trusted household names and offer excellent quality products so we’ve decided to take a closer look at what each product has to offer and compared them to one another:

Assembling the Playard

The Graco Pack ‘n Play proved to be a little more difficult to set up compared to the 4Moms Breeze. Although the Graco Pack ‘n Play comes with a set of instructions, the instructions could perhaps have been a little clearer in our opinion.

In all fairness, the most difficult part of setting up the Graco Pack ‘n Playinvolved the bassinet and the canopy and not the playard itself. In comparison, the 4Moms Breeze was, well, a real breeze to set up. You need little to no instructions in setting up the playard and it takes only a few minutes to do so the first time. Once you’ve become familiar with the parts, it takes less than a minute!

Staying on the topic of assembling, the Graco Pack ‘n Play makes use of the traditional knob in the middle that needs to be pulled up in order to set up the playard. As an additional safety measure, the rails on the side have a “latch” system where the rails need to “click” in before the knob can be pushed down.

This ensures that the playard is safe and sturdy when in use. The 4Moms Breeze makes use of only the knob that pulls upwards or downwards when setting up. This makes the 4Moms Breeze quick to set up/pack up and one can do this using only one hand which is always helpful when you have your little one on your side!

Dimensions and size:

Let’s be honest – when it comes to playards, size matters. Whether you are looking for a small or large playard will depend entirely on your own personal needs and the purpose you are hoping to use it for. The Graco Pack ‘n Play is a little smaller and lighter than your traditional playard which makes it pleasant to travel with.

The 4Moms Breeze offers a little more room for your little one to play and although it has more length to it than the Graco Pack ‘n Play, the Pack ‘n Play stands taller than the 4Moms Breeze which is something to keep in mind if your children are fairly tall.

Weight specifications and limitations:

As mentioned, the Graco Pack ‘n Play is a little smaller in size compared to the 4Moms Breeze and weighs only 21 lbs.

The 4Moms Breeze weighs in at 26 lbs. which is not much heavier compared to the Graco. While the Graco is lighter, both playards are still fairly heavy when it comes to traveling long distances but keep in mind that they need to be sturdy for the safety of your child.

Both the Graco Pack ‘n Play and the 4Moms Breeze has a weight limitation of 30 lbs. for the playard itself while the Graco Pack ‘n Play bassinet can accommodate a weight limit of 15 lbs. and the 4Moms Breeze a mere 3lbs more at 18 lbs. Keep in mind that once your baby can sit up by himself/herself, it is no longer safe to have them in the bassinet.

Mobility:

The Graco Pack ‘n Play Jetsetter and the 4Moms Breeze both have wheels on one end which make it easy to move around inside the house. The wheels are plain and simple with no swivel.

We recommend that you look at the dimensions of both playards to determine whether it can be moved from one room to another without having to pack up the playard first as doing so can become quite a tedious task.

Both playards are sold with a travel bag which makes it easy to get from point A to point B if you travel outside of the house. Unfortunately, there have been some complaints about the quality of the Graco Pack ‘n Play Jetsetter bag with stitching coming undone and material tearing.

Bassinet:

The Graco Pack ‘n Play and the 4Moms Breeze both have a bassinet included. The Graco Pack ‘n Play bassinet is a little more snug compared to the 4Moms Breeze and takes note that your little one will outgrow the Graco bassinet a lot sooner than the 4Moms breeze bassinet due to its size, especially if you have a tall baby.

Both bassinets are sturdy and safe for the baby to sleep in during the first few months (refer to weight limitations) and can be used to change your baby’s diaper.

The extras:

We can’t help but fall in love with the canopy from Graco, included when purchasing the Graco Pack n Play Jetsetter playard. The dome-shaped canopy folds up over the playard and bassinet and can be used to shield out the light when traveling, making it convenient for your baby to take a nap any time, any place.

The canopy that consists of part mesh, part material can also be used to keep out bugs or misquotes whether inside or outside of the house and the mesh allows for air to naturally flow in out of the playard. One can also use the canopy without the bassinet, keeping your little one safe inside.

The Graco Pack ‘n Play Jetsetter playard has a built-in vibrator on the side of the playard that provides soothing vibrations when your baby takes a nap in the bassinet. The soft and gentle vibrations assist in putting baby to sleep while many parents believe that it also improves colic.

4Moms Breeze No extras included

Affordability:

The Graco Pack ‘n Play Jetsetter is generally a little cheaper than the 4Moms Breeze though those who’ve purchased the 4Moms Breeze swear by its outstanding quality.

The Graco Pack ‘n Play does offer a little more in terms of extras but you are likely to get more miles out of the 4Moms Breeze due to the fact that it is larger than the Graco Pack ‘n Play. Either way, you are getting a great product that is strong, durable and reliable.

In Conclusion

Both the Graco Pack ‘n Play Jetsetter and the 4Moms Breeze offer excellent value for money when it comes to playards. While it has to be said that both products are fairly expensive, rest assure that you can rely on the quality that they provide.

If you are constantly on the go or travel quite often, we recommend that you consider the Graco Pack ‘n Play Jetsetter that is easy to set up, not too heavy to carry and comes a few little extras to make your stay away from home a little more convenient.

If you only travel every now and you are looking for something to predominantly use inside your home, the 4Moms Breeze will be a perfect fit as it is very easy to set up and move and very sturdy.
