Why are you here sharing your advice on The Baby Swag?

As a mom to a hyperactive toddler boy with Severe Hemophilia B, child safety is a top priority for me. I know firsthand the importance of being vigilant and proactive in creating a safe environment for our little ones. I believe that every child deserves to feel safe and secure in their environment, and as parents, it’s our responsibility to create that for them. That’s why I’m passionate about all things related to child safety, including car seat safety, baby wearing, and more.

Despite the challenges that come with parenting a child with Hemophilia B, I’m passionate about finding joy in parenthood. Whether it’s through creating fun and engaging activities for my son, discovering new ways to help him learn and grow, or simply taking a moment to appreciate the small things, I believe that there’s always room for joy in our lives as parents. 

Through my advocacy work, I aim to empower other parents of children with complex conditions like Hemophilia B to prioritize safety while also finding joy in their parenting journey. Whether it’s through sharing tips and resources on social media or speaking at events, I’m committed to supporting families and communities in any way that I can.

What’s the most valuable advice (swag) you can share with another parent?

Time goes by so fast, and it’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day demands of life. But, as a parent of a child with a complex condition, I’ve learned to appreciate every moment with my little one. Every milestone, every laugh, every snuggle – these moments are priceless and fleeting. 

Parenting is the hardest job in the world, there’s no denying that. But it’s also one of the most rewarding things you’ll ever do. Seeing your child grow and thrive, even in the face of challenges, is a source of immense pride and joy.

My advice to other parents is to take a step back and really savor the moments you have with your child. Put down your phone, ignore the distractions, and focus on being present with your little one. I say this out of a place of personal experience; after thinking I was going to lose my son, I realized just how precious time truly is.  These memories will last a lifetime and will be cherished long after the tough times have passed.

What’s one product that changed your life as a parent?

As a parent, there are so many products out there that promise to make your life easier. But for me, the one product that truly changed my life as a parent is the Ergo 360 baby carrier. 

When my son was born, I quickly realized that carrying him around in my arms wasn’t always practical or comfortable, especially when running errands or walking long distances. I tried a few different carriers and wraps, but none of them seemed to fit quite right or offer the support I needed.
