Why are you here sharing your advice on The Baby Swag?

I love being a dad, it’s changed me forever. My son has pushed me to become a better person and enjoy life more. It’s very challenging at times but it’s so worth it.

I’ve been working as a product manager and researcher for the last 15 years so when I started my parenting journey, my research brain kicked into gear and I soon found myself to be an expert in everything from baby formula, strollers, car seats and everything else you need for a growing family.

I love doing research and then packaging it up in something that anyone can use. I figured if I’m going to be doing all this research for my own family, maybe other families could benefit from it to.

So I’m here to just simply share what I’ve learned over the years and to provide the resources that I wish someone had just given me when I was a new parent.

What’s the most valuable advice (swag) you can share with another parent?

Try to remember that most things in those first couple of years are fairly short term. While you’re right in the middle of a massive meltdown or your baby has a few bad days of sleep in a row, it can feel like your life is over and things will never go back to “normal.”

But in reality, it might be a few days or weeks of your life. Those can be challenging times but one thing is for sure… your kid will be onto the next developmental change very soon (hopefully one of the more pleasant ones). So even though it’s incredibly hard to remember this at times, when I can, I found that it makes things a lot easier.

What’s one product that changed your life as a parent?

The Baby Shusher. My son was not one of those babies that just slept really easily, it took quite a concerted effort. One of the things that helped was doing the shushing sound.

Well, after about a month straight of shushing, my mouth was so sore that I couldn’t do it anymore. I thought the Shusher seemed like the stupidest gadget and would have never ordered it myself.

Luckily my wife is smarter than me and just got one delivered. 100% the best gift she’s ever gotten me.
